Join us at Orton for a ramble over Orton Scar to Crosby Ravensworth
Join us for a ramble to the nearby village of Crosby Ravensworth for the Highlights birthday celebration.

​The route will take walkers across the fields and over Orton Scar with mainly gates (avoiding stiles) and a reasonable ascent (and gentle descent). There are just two short stretches close to the Appleby road with no pavement. Suitable for anyone who walks regularly and enjoys great views of the Shap fells and the North Pennines. Walking boots and a waterproof recommended.

Time: 12.15pm, aiming to arrive in Crosby Ravensworth for 2.30-3.00pm.
Return: For those who don’t want to walk back to Orton, there’ll be limited car space for drivers to have a lift back to Orton to collect cars
